4G vs 5G Signal Booster
Understand the difference between 4G and 5G booster kits before you buy.
Short answer
4G and 5G boosters support different network bands and use cases, so the best choice is determined by the signal available outside and the frequencies your network uses. A 5G kit is not automatically better if the needed 5G band is not available at your location.
Check the local service first
Test outside and indoors with Wi-Fi off. Note the provider, handset, location, service indicator and whether calls or data work. Coverage differs by place and can change between the yard and rooms inside. Ask the provider which network services and coverage options apply at your address.
Then compare the device's manufacturer specification. It should identify exact frequencies and the radio services supported by that model. Do not infer 5G support from a product name, broad band list or coverage claim. A model that supports one service does not automatically support another.

Frequently asked questions
Does a 4G repeater automatically boost 5G?
No. Check the exact model's documented support for the relevant radio service.
Does a 5G product name confirm compatibility?
No. Ask for model-specific specifications and carrier permission.
Should I check the network at my address?
Yes. The service and signal can vary across the property.
Will a repeater create coverage where none exists?
No. An active repeater needs an existing source signal.
